Key Supplier Alliance

Eurosource are the new UK Distributor for Strahman Line blinds, the orignal line blind design. We have improved safety and reduced downtime with our product within a variety of industries.

Total equipment isolation valves are never 100% reliable. For this reason, most safety regulations require positive shutoff devices such as Line Blinds. This is especially true in high-temperature, critical services. Strahman Line Blinds combine 100% positive shutoff with very quick actuation. This reduces the time-consuming changes of standard spectacle plates. They are specifically designed for a wide range of temperatures, and designs that meet the API 607 rev.4 fire safe standards are available.

Strahman pioneered the development of the non-spreading and quick-action Line Blinds and was the first company to receive Lloyd’s of London certification for Line Blinds used in cryogenic applications such as LNG.

Our technology and expertise provides you with an extensive range of standard Line Blinds and the ability to design a solution that meets your unique application.

What is line blinding?

Line blinding has been used within pipe lines in various industries wherever either positive shutoff is concerned or full flow should be achieved without pressure drop.

The usual practice for line blinding by using typical materials such as spectacle blinds, spool pieces, blind flange valves etc. with gaskets inserted between flanges has however been labour intensive and time consuming and thus resulted in making expense factors which include the time required for the blinding/deblinding process, loss of productivity caused by lengthy blinding time and also the operators of the production line have been unavoidably exposed to the potential hazard of explosion, fire, pollution and inhalation.

Typical Process              Isolation Blind Series 253

blindprocess     lineblindprocess

The Series 253 incorporates a simple design has been developed to provide absolute shut-off, quick operation and trouble-free service with minimum maintenance.

The unique and simple opening-closing mechanism allows one person to blank or blind heavy pipe work with ease, rapidity and safety without any tools or hoisting apparatus etc.

Line Blind Valves are used for:

  • Safety in operation and maintenance
  • Perfect isolation of pipeline
  • Preventing product contamination
  • Maintaining a vacuum
  • Preventing environmental pollution
  • Emergency shutoff for process, accidents and equipment shutdown

Types of Line Blind:

Sliding Type Blind Valve

A heavy pipe line can be blinded by operating the hand wheel with safe and ease. It takes 20 Second ~ 5 minutes by one untrained person without line spreading. One turns the hand wheel and then sliding the blind plate to secure the blind by hand wheel.

Designed user friendly with operation as one turns the hand wheel and then slide the blind plate to secure the blind by and wheel.

Product range is from DN 20 (NPS 1/2) to DN 1200 (NPS48) up to 1500 LBS (ASME class) for gases, liquids, viscous liquids, slurry, powder, chips and etc.

Swing Type Blind Valve

A pipe line is blinded with a spectacle plate by swing the open / close position. It allows one person to blind / deblind a heavy pipe line within minutes by operating a hand wheel.

Product range is from DN 20 (NPS 1/2) to DN 800 (NPS32) up to 1500 LBS (ASME class) for gases, liquids, viscous liquids, slurry, powder, chips and etc.

We provide pressure and temperature control products, condensate pumps, strainers, isolation valves, and refrigeration system purgers to keep your systems working efficiently and effectively. Armstrong also offers packaged system solutions, ranging from pressure reduction stations to steam distribution and condensate collection manifolds and condensate recovery systems.

Armstrong products consistently deliver best-in-class quality, longevity and value. We provide outstanding technical support and service, as well as training and education through Armstrong University. Our factory-trained sales representatives are backed by Armstrong's in-house specialists, so we are always ready to assist you, even with the most difficult requirements.

Steam Trapping And Steam Tracing Equipment
The Steam Trapping and Tracing Equipment category consists of three groups of products-steam traps, steam tracing systems and automatic differential condensate controllers (DC).

Eurosource supply a range of steam traps including:

  • Inverted Bucket Steam Traps
  • Controlled Disc Steam Traps
  • Thermostatic Steam Traps
  • Bimetallic Superheat Steam Traps
  • Floating Ball Steam Traps
  • Steam Trap Stations
  • Universal Connector Blocks

Steam System Monitoring
Energy costs continue to rise. Increasing right along with them is the awareness—greater than ever before—of how important steam trap maintenance is to conserving energy and saving dollars. But awareness is one thing. Action is another. Energy users at every level are still beset with problems that are products of outdated thinking and misplaced priorities:

Condensate Recovery Equipment
Condensate recovery allows you to use all of the valuable Btu within the steam system. Depending on the pressure, condensate leaving a trap contains approximately 20% of the heat energy transferred at the boiler in the form of sensible heat.

Condensate recovery systems help you reduce three tangible costs of producing steam.

Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs)
Armstrong pressure reducing valves (PRVs) and temperature regulators help you manage steam, air and liquid systems safely and efficiently. And they ensure uninterrupted productivity—by maintaining constant pressure or temperature for process control.

As the name implies, a strainer helps screen out particulate matter in a piping system. Although steam traps get most of the glory, strainers also play an important role in the efficient operation of a well-designed system.

Armstrong offers strainers in a wide choice of sizes and materials to meet most pipeline straining requirements. All of our strainers are made to Armstrong's high standards and are guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship or material.

Automatic and Continuous Air Vent Operation Increases System Efficiency
Many industrial processes involve the removal of air/gas from a pressurized liquid. Armstrong air vents are ideally suited for this purpose. The float-operated design means the vents can instantly and automatically adjust to variations in gas flow and pressure. The air vents can handle gas removal from liquids with specific gravities as low as 0.40 and pressure to 2,700 psi (186 bar). Armstrong air vents are available in a wide variety of sizes, end connections and construction materials.

Radiator Products
Armstrong is a leading supplier of radiator products. Armstrong continues to serve the special needs of homeowners, hotels, commercial buildings, schools, universities–anyone who uses steam/hot water radiators for building heat.

Compressed Air Drain Traps
Water carried with air into tools or machines where air is being used will wash away lubricating oil. This means excessive wear to motors and bearings and, in the end, higher maintenance expense. Without adequate lubrication, tools—especially pneumatic hammers, drills, hoists and sand rammers—will run sluggishly and inefficiently, because the wearing surfaces are limited in size and the accelerated wear creates air leakage.

Piston Valves
Armstrong Piston Valves are full port forged steel isolation valves with a maximum operating pressure of 136 Barg/1973 psig and a maximum operating temperature of 427°C/800°F. The burnished piston and metal reinforced graphite rings provide leak-proof shutoff and allow Armstrong Piston Valves to be operated at higher temperatures, while also extending operating life.

Armstrong Piston Valves are available in Socket Weld, BSPT, and NPT end connections. Flanged ends can be supplied upon request.

Unfired Steam Generators
Armstrong unfired steam generators (USGs) are designed to produce pressurized clean steam using boiler steam or high-temperature hot water as an energy source. Typical uses for this clean steam include humidification, sterilization, pharmaceutical applications and food processing.
